On Friday, March 29, the working mothers of the Linguistics Department will be hosting a brown bag lunch discussion in SLCC 2300 A&B (please note the different location!). We will be starting at noon. And please bring your lunch. See you then!
Topic: Working Parents in Academia
By Julie A. Hochgesang, Kristin Mulrooney and Deb Chen Pichler
This brown bag will be a gathering of working mothers (and fathers!) and others interested in information about what it means to work in academia and be a parent at the same time. We will open the brown bag discussion with people sharing their own experiences (about being parents during graduate school and/or academic careers and trying to maintain a balance between the two). We will then open the floor to questions by others who want to know more about the working parent experience. Don’t forget to bring your lunches and your children who are quite welcome! We look forward to seeing you there!
