We are now hiring for the following Full Time position at our Westminster Campus: American Sign Language Faculty
Summary: The primary focus of this position is teaching and curriculum development for ASL courses. Fulltime faculty at FRCC are expected to assume instructional leadership roles that typically include hiring and mentoring part-time instructors, developing curriculum, scheduling classes, advising students and serving on departmental and college-wide committees. Full Time ASL faculty will also be expected to help to assess student academic achievement and readiness for graduation, and to work as a team to promote the Interpreter Preparation Program–including recruitment and advising of students and networking with the Advisory Board and community stakeholders (Deaf community, interpreters, professional agencies and employers). May also be asked to serve as lead faculty or perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications: Master’s Degree in American Sign Language, Education, Linguistics, or other related field either completed or in progress with projected completion within two years; a minimum of two to three years of recent teaching experience at the post-secondary level. All applicants, if selected as a finalist, will be required to demonstrate English proficiency with a written exam.
