Gallaudet’s Fulbright program recognized

Ceil Lucas, the coordinator for the Fulbright program here on campus, received the following message from the Institute of International Education. Our program was recognized as one of the top producing Fulbright Student institutions. If you are interested in learning more about the Fulbright program, you can find more information at:

Dear Ceil,

Congratulations on being a top producing Fulbright Student institution for this academic year.  A specialized e-card was created to help you share your institution’s success with your campus community.  We hope you use it to celebrate your legacy within the history of the program:

The U.S. Department of State has also issued the following statement regarding top producing Fulbright institutions.  Please feel free to distribute and use accordingly:
“On behalf of the U.S. Department of State, congratulations to all of the Fulbright top producing schools this year. Both President Obama and Secretary Clinton have made clear that international educational exchange is a critical element of the U.S. international engagement and the Fulbright Program is consistent with this “smart power” approach. Securing a place as a Fulbright top producing school is a testament to the quality of the applications a school’s students and faculty submit, and to the efforts of its Fulbright Program Adviser/Fulbright Campus Representative to emphasize the legacy and importance of a Fulbright experience.” –Alina L. Romanowski, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Academic Programs, U.S. Department of State

Thank you for your assistance in promoting the Fulbright Program on campus.   Please let us know if you have any questions and we wish you continued success in the future.
